The order handling process of BB&S is as follows:
• The customer asks the department’s account manager for a proposal.
• Technology.
The technical feasibility of the product is examined. A technologist may support customers in the development of prototypes and special products. In particular in the production of high-frequency (RF) designs, BB&S has a significant headstart over other manufacturers. Any opportunities to manufacture products at lower costs, will naturally be communicated to the customer.
• As soon as the price of the product has been defined, the customer may place the order.
BB&S bases the price on various factors, such as technology effort, the processes to be performed and the materials to be used. In the price definition phase, we obviously aim at a soundprice/quality ratio.
• Planning Technical work preparation.
• Technical work preparation.
Before production starts, the technical work preparation group processes the data and performs a check on completeness, processability, producibility (against IPC guidelines) and reliability (in accordance with IPC design rules). This group also produces auxiliary tools for the actual manufacturing of the product and generate files to control the production machines.
• Planning production.
• Production 1 item. *
• FAI: First Article Inspection.*
A technologist, an operator, a work preparation employee, an inspector and the customer examine the process for possibilities to improve the efficiency in the production of following articles.
• Order in production.
• BB&S delivers the product.
