IP functions
supports data interfaces using the IP protocol. This can be supported both on serial lines as well as on Ethernet ports. SmartNet supports the connection of Ethernet devices to support workstations and IP-telephony.

SmartNet provides a decentralised network, enabling optimal redundancy. The use of simple coaxial cables guarantees error-free operation, easy installation and low life cycle cost for cabling as well as high EMC performance.

Highly modular
SmartNet consists of autonomous flexible switches. Due to it's built-in switch SmartNet's TAUs (Tactical Access Unit) constitute a high performance Local Area Network carrying voice, video and data. Dependent on the functionality of the crewmen, specific TAU configurations are available providing different functionality (e.g. Remote MMI offering advanced HMI, Commander's TAU, Radio Control TAU, etc.

Outstanding intelligibility
Using the latest digital transmission technology, voice is distributed over the system providing excellent quality. Using Digital Signal Processors (DSP), any noise will be filtered out and the system will switch on automatically in case of any voice communication.
