NATO / WEU has started the definition of the architecture for a future generation of tactical networks. This definition has been identified as TACOMS Post 2000 indicating both Tactical Communications and the period for which it is intended.

The next phase is the definition of STANAGS (NATO -standards) which will be generated by industry and are to be approved by the Governments.

Thanks to its technical know-how and vast experience, Thales has been invited to lead the team including Bae Systems, EADS, ITT and Marconi, offering the definition and specification of all work packages.
