On 28 August the First of Class F124, the "Sachsen", started its first 17 days' sea trials. (more about these trials.)

During the trials the actual functioning of the ship will be tested, but for Thales Nederland it is an excellent opportunity to test its equipment under sea-going conditions.
A team of Thales specialists will be on board during the entire period to carry out a wide variety of tests.

These will include tests with the aid of a Tornado fighter aircraft.
This is the first set of trials. A whole testing schedule lays ahead before delivery of the ship to the German Navy at the end of 2002.
