Two auditors from Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance spent three days meticulously examining the production and chemicals-processing departments of Thales Nederland. Subject of their audit was to check if Thales Nederland complies with the ISO 14001 standard. This standard deals with environmental matters. Although the auditors found some minor items that could be improved, Lloyd's concluded that the Hengelo plant of Thales Nederland complies with the ISO 14001 Environmental Protection standard. Therefore, Lloyd's has again awarded the Environmental Protection Certificate to Thales Nederland. The company takes great pride in having obtained this certificate that is tangible proof of its sense of responsibility for the environment. The ISO 14001 certificate remains valid for three years, but having obtained it does not mean that Thales Nederland may now rest on its laurels. Compliance with the strict ISO 14001 requirements is a continuous process that demands constant attention.
Thales Nederland obtained the ISO 14001 for the first time in the year 2000.
