Thales Training (TT, has delivered the first Boeing 777 Full Flight Simulator (FFS) to KLM. The FFS is the latest in TTsimulation technology using C2000X architecture and is fully qualified to FAA Level D, the highest internationally recognised level of flight simulation.
The new simulator has been installed in the KLM dedicated training centre at Schiphol airport and it features the new Evans and Sutherland state-of-the-art EP1000 visual system.
To complement the FFS, TT¥will also supply a flight management system trainer (FMST). Both the FFS and the FMST are part of the TT¥integrated product range, a suite of products based on a common PC/Windows NT real-time architecture allowing major operability and life cycle cost benefits to the user.
Chairman and CEO of Thales Training ¥ Guy Delevacque said: "This is our first full flight simulator order from KLM, an airline that is recognised in the industry for demanding the highest standards. In the present highly competitive market it is significant that KLM has selected Thales to fulfil this requirement."
