This year's edition of the Thales Golf Tournament was organized by Thales Nederland. It was a giant success. The uncharacteristic spell of dry and sunny weather, in combination with the beautiful golf courses situated in rural areas in the eastern part of the Netherlands, set the conditions for a pleasant outdoors event. No less than 180 Thales employees from Scotland, England, Germany, France, the Netherlands, and even one participant from Malaysia, formed 25 teams that battled for the coveted Thales Golf Trophy. On Tuesday 17 September most of the participants arrived in Hengelo. The tournament took place on 18, 19 and 20 September. But these days were not exclusively filled with golf. The program included a variety of activities, e.g. an excursion to a well-known local beer brewery. Success guaranteed!
Frans van Rooijen, director of the Business Unit Industrial Logistics ¥and one of the organizers of the event: "Everything went according to plan and I'm convinced that everyone has had a wonderful time. For the company, this event has had a positive side-effect, for an event as this is an excellent chance to quickly get to know each other. We have for instance many German colleagues, and they are here now with a few teams.."
