In September Thales has been awarded two contracts for the supply of LION ADVANCE uncooled hand-held thermal imagers. The Netherlands Police Authorities added LION ADVANCE to an existing contract for the supply of night vision goggles. The systems will be utilized for safeguarding national security.

A second contract for the LION ADVANCE was received from the US Navy, who selected the uncooled thermal imaging camera on the basis of its compliance with US military specifications.
Thanks to its proven effectiveness in detecting and monitoring any activity year round, night and day, LION ADVANCE will provide maximum situational awareness in critical (homeland) security applications. Product features now include auto focus and image stabilization, which are unique for a military product and helpful for the user. Thales has also managed to further reduce the LION's already very low weight and power consumption. Thales is gearing up for series production of LION ADVANCE at its facilities in The Hague, the Netherlands. Thales is market leader with LION uncooled hand-held thermal imager for the military market.
The cameras will be supplied later this year. User trials may trigger supplement orderings.
Thales is proud to add both the Netherlands Police and the US Navy to its growing customer base of thermal imaging products.
