Spare parts, together with tools and test equipment, are provisioning parts used to maintain the equipment. For standard deployment of the equipment, this maintenance is divided in preventive and corrective maintenance. Also parts for maintenance during storage and for overhaul activities can be defined.
With the customer´s specific demands, such as deployment and employment parameters; the number of locations at which the equipment units are installed, the number of locations at which they can be maintained, and the number of locations authorised to stock spares, the length of time of the support period, and the equipment operating time, provisioning spare parts can be defined. Determining the quantities and types of spares parts required to support a mission, is one of the most crucial procedures in the provisioning process. Our goal is to ensure an acceptable operational readiness capability with a minimum quantity of spare parts and related logistic costs. On demand Thales Nederland is capable of performing Life Cycle Cost Analysis in order to advise a customer the optimum maintenance concept for his equipment in operation
The selection of potential spare/repair parts is made from Thales Nederland construction information database, which gives us the ability to ensure that the spare/repair parts are usable in the equipment with our Configuration Control System.
Consistence with the other logistic products is guaranteed by the output of the Logistic Support Analyse. One of these outputs, the Maintenance Task List, defines at which maintenance level the potential spare/repair parts can be replaced and what the required maintenance actions are .
